What is Mane 'n Tail and where did it originate?

Mane 'n Tail is an iconic haircare brand founded in 1970 by Bonnie and Phil Katzev. Initially created for use on their horses' manes and tails, the first batches were made in the kitchen of their New Jersey farm.

Who is behind Mane 'n Tail and where are you located?

Mane 'n Tail is produced by Straight Arrow Products, Inc., a company founded by Phil Katzev and later passed down to his youngest son, Devon. The company's 130,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and headquarters are located in Easton, PA.

What makes Mane 'n Tail unique?

Mane 'n Tail is the only horse to human hybrid brand. Originally formulated for horses, humans discovered the secret of Mane 'n Tail for themselves and started to use the product on their hair. From there Mane 'n Tail has created an entire line of human specific products.

What is the pH of your products?

All of our products have a pH between 6-6.5.

How are your products made?

Every Mane 'n Tail product begins with an idea. Our team of chemists then develops a formula, which is produced by our manufacturing team. At the same time, our marketing and graphics teams design the label and create promotional materials. Finally, the product comes to life!

What are the benefits to using Mane 'n Tail products?

Our brand is family founded and family owned, and we're made in the US. All of our products are sustainably sourced and cruelty free. Our many formulas contain moisturizing ingredients like Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Argan Oil and strengthening ingredients like Keratin, Biotin and Hydrolyzed Rice Protein.

Yes, Mane 'n Tail can be used for all hair types from 1A-4C.

Can Mane 'n Tail be used for color-treated or chemically processed hair?

Yes, all Mane 'n Tail products are color-safe, and we offer several formulas specifically designed to protect color. Mane 'n Tail is also suitable for use on chemically treated hair.

Can I use your products as a leave-in?

Yes, all of Mane 'n Tail's conditioners can be used as leave-in treatments. We also offer a range of leave-in creams.

Can Mane 'n Tail be used daily?

Yes, all Mane 'n Tail products are safe for daily use. If you notice product build-up, try using Mane 'n Tail's Micellar Shampoo for a refreshing cleanse.

Mane 'n Tail products are formulated with ingredients like Collagen, Biotin, and Keratin, which support cell growth, strengthen hair, and provide moisture to help maintain hair length. While many users have reported hair growth, individual results may vary.

Can Mane 'n Tail help with thinning or hair loss?

While many of our products help add volume to hair, we recommend consulting with your doctor, as none of our products are specifically designed to address hair loss.

Are your products safe for human use?

Yes, all of Mane 'n Tail's products are safe for human use. They are also safe for use on pets and animals, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, cows, and more.

Do you test your products on animals?

No, Mane 'n Tail has never tested on animals and will never do so. Instead, we test our products using animal hair samples collected from local horses during grooming.

What is the shelf life of Mane 'n Tail products?

Our products have a shelf life of 5 years, but are at their freshest within 12 months of opening.

How long will it take to see results from using your products?

Results will be immediate, but we recommend using for 6-8 weeks for optimal results.

Are your products gluten free?

Yes, all Mane 'n Tail products are gluten free.

Are your products vegan friendly?

What is your return policy?

If you're looking to return your order for whatever reason, we offer free returns within 30 days of purchase. You can return your product for a refund to the original payment method.

How long will my order take to arrive to me?

Orders going to the east coast can expect them in 1-3 business days. Orders going to the mid west can expect them in 3-5 business days. Orders going to the west coast can expect them in 5-7 business days.

What are the shipping rates?

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to all APO/AFO addresses.

What if I entered the wrong shipping address?

Please immediately cancel the order, and reorder with the proper address.

What if my package was damaged?

We offer a refund, or a replacement for anyone with a damaged package with proof of damage. Please email contact@manentail.com with your order number, and images of the box and contents you received.

What if my package was lost or stolen?

Mane 'n Tail is not responsible for packages handled by shipping carriers once they leave our facility. We recommend you reach out to the carrier.
